The National Basketball Association has not yet determined whether T-Mobile Arena meets the league’s standards to host a prospective expansion team in Las Vegas, Hoops Wire reported.

According to the outlet, league officials continue to examine the venue’s ability to accommodate the specific requirements tied to an NBA franchise, including game-day operations, locker-room configurations and broadcast infrastructure. No final decision has been reached, and the review remains ongoing.

T-Mobile Arena, which opened in 2016 on the Las Vegas Strip, seats roughly 18,000 for basketball and already hosts numerous high-profile sporting events and concerts. Still, the NBA is weighing whether the building can support a full regular-season schedule and meet league standards for revenue-generating amenities.

Las Vegas has long been viewed as a leading candidate for expansion alongside Seattle, but commissioner Adam Silver has repeatedly stated that the league must first complete its current media-rights negotiations before launching a formal expansion process.

No timeline for a final ruling on T-Mobile Arena—or the broader expansion decision—has been announced.
