The Orlando Magic are among several NBA clubs preparing potential offers for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo should the two-time MVP become available, analyst Kirk Goldsberry said during an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast.
“Orlando has actually been very active in seeking out Giannis Antetokounmpo’s services,” Goldsberry told Simmons, citing conversations with league contacts. He added that other teams expected to monitor the situation include the Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers, particularly after the first round of the playoffs when postseason hopes quickly fade for half of the field.
Trade parameters remain uncertain. Goldsberry noted it is “hard to know” what Milwaukee would demand in return or what rival front offices are willing to propose at this early stage.
Speculation around Antetokounmpo’s future intensified after Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that the forward and the Bucks “very much appear headed for a divorce” this offseason. According to Amick, Antetokounmpo believes he is ready to play despite a knee injury, while the team has continued to hold him out—an approach viewed by some observers as a sign of growing tension.
No formal trade discussions have been disclosed by the Bucks, and Antetokounmpo remains under contract through the 2024-25 season with a player option for 2025-26.
