Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen was upgraded to questionable for Friday’s road game against the Miami Heat, according to the NBA’s official injury report.

The 27-year-old has missed 10 straight contests since March 3 because of right knee tendinitis. Before the setback, Allen averaged 21.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists over a 14-game span while shooting 72.4 percent from the floor—one of the most efficient stretches of his career.

With Allen in the lineup this season, Cleveland is 33-18; the team is 12-10 when he sits. His absence has been most noticeable in rebounding and rim protection.

“He’s ramped it up in the last few days; trending positive,” head coach Kenny Atkinson said earlier in the week. “I watched him yesterday on the court with contact. I think we’re in that last stage of getting him ready. I could anticipate in the next couple games a possible return.”

Allen is earning $20 million this season. A three-year, $90 million extension is set to begin in the 2026-27 campaign.

Even if Allen is cleared to play Friday, Cleveland will still be short-handed: Craig Porter Jr. (left groin strain), Jaylon Tyson (toe) and Dean Wade (ankle) are all listed as out.
