PHILADELPHIA — Center Joel Embiid was back in uniform for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls, ending a 13-game layoff caused by a right oblique strain.
The reigning 2023 NBA MVP had been limited to 33 appearances this season after sustaining several injuries. The latest setback occurred during a 124-117 win over the Miami Heat on Feb. 26.
Philadelphia also reinstated forward Paul George, who completed a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy.
The 76ers took the court with a 39-33 record, seventh in the Eastern Conference. They trailed the fifth-place Toronto Raptors by 1½ games, a gap that currently places Philadelphia in the play-in tournament bracket.
