Embiid, George to Rejoin 76ers Lineup Against Bulls Wednesday

Center Joel Embiid and forward Paul George are expected to be back on the floor for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.

Head coach Nick Nurse’s club upgraded Embiid to questionable on Tuesday as the reigning MVP continued to recover from an oblique strain that had sidelined him since late February. George is eligible to play after completing a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug program.

Philadelphia has struggled to find consistent form when both stars suit up, posting a 10-9 record in those contests. With Wednesday’s game, the pair has 10 regular-season outings left to establish rhythm before the postseason.

The Sixers enter the matchup seventh in the Eastern Conference at 39-33, sitting 1.5 games behind the fifth-place Toronto Raptors. Securing a top-six seed would allow Philadelphia to avoid the play-in tournament and give the team’s veteran core additional rest before the playoffs.
