The Milwaukee Bucks have upgraded forward Pete Nance from a two-way player to a multiyear standard contract, the club announced after clearing a roster spot by waiving guard Cam Thomas.

Nance, 26, was approaching the limit of 50 active games on his two-way agreement, with Monday set to be his final eligible appearance. His performance in recent weeks, particularly while Giannis Antetokounmpo nurses a knee injury, convinced the front office to keep him on the 15-man roster.

The Akron, Ohio, native has logged 37 games this season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in limited minutes. He is shooting 56.4 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from three-point range, numbers that have drawn praise inside the organization.

Nance’s route to a guaranteed contract has been circuitous. He spent four years at Northwestern University before transferring to the University of North Carolina for his final collegiate season. Brief stops with Cleveland and Philadelphia followed, and he signed a two-way deal with Milwaukee in February 2025.

With Nance promoted, Milwaukee’s standard roster is now full. The Bucks still hold an open two-way slot, which the team is expected to address during the offseason.
