Heat Set to Welcome Back Wiggins, Jaquez and Powell for Monday Matchup

The Miami Heat expect to have a full complement of players when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Starting forward Andrew Wiggins will suit up after sitting out the past eight games with sesamoiditis in his left big toe. Reserve swingman Jaime Jaquez Jr. is also cleared to play following a two-game absence caused by soreness in his left hip. Veteran guard/forward Norman Powell returns as well, having missed Saturday’s loss in Houston because of tightness in his left calf.

With three weeks left in the regular season, the closing stretch carries contract implications for all three players. Wiggins can enter free agency this summer if he declines his $30.2 million player option for 2026-27. Powell will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 unless he signs a veteran extension, while Jaquez becomes eligible for a rookie-scale extension during the offseason.

Season production

  • Andrew Wiggins: 15.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 block per game, shooting .474/.399/.788 in 57 appearances (31.0 minutes).
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr.: 15.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists, shooting .500/.281/.766 in 64 games (28.6 minutes). He is considered a contender for Sixth Man of the Year.
  • Norman Powell: 22.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals, shooting .473/.384/.823 in 52 contests (30.1 minutes), earning his first All-Star nod.

Miami enters Monday at 38-33, ninth in the Eastern Conference but only 1.5 games behind fifth-place Toronto.
