Free agent big man Trey Lyles is close to joining Real Madrid, according to reports published on September 4, 2025.
Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com reported that Lyles is finalizing a contract with the reigning Spanish club champion. Javier Maestro of Spanish outlet Encestando first revealed the move earlier in the day. Financial details and the length of the agreement have not been disclosed, and Real Madrid has yet to release an official statement.
The 29-year-old Canadian-American forward spent the 2024-25 NBA season as a free agent and last played in the league with the Sacramento Kings. Signing with Real Madrid would mark his first stint in Europe.
