Atlanta forward Jalen Johnson, sidelined Saturday with a shoulder issue, could return for Monday’s matchup against Memphis, according to Hawks head coach Quin Snyder. “He’s okay,” Snyder told reporters, stopping short of offering details. Johnson, a first-time All-Star, has appeared in 63 of Atlanta’s 71 games, posting 22.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 8.0 assists per contest while ranking second in the NBA in triple-doubles. The Hawks have won nine of their last 10 and are tied with Philadelphia for sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Kuminga faces former club

Jonathan Kuminga scored only two points on 1-for-9 shooting in his first meeting with Golden State since February’s trade that sent him to Atlanta. Despite the quiet stat line and the public nature of the breakup, both sides said the personal relationship remains intact. “I like Jonathan. We always got along well,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, adding that the on-court fit was the primary obstacle. Kuminga echoed the sentiment, calling his former teammates “brothers” he can contact anytime.

Bitadze disputes Doncic claim

Orlando center Goga Bitadze rejected Luka Doncic’s allegation that Bitadze insulted the Mavericks star’s mother during a recent one-point loss to Dallas. Both players received technical fouls that were later rescinded. “Where I come from, we respect each other’s families. I would never say that,” Bitadze said. The Georgian added that Doncic uttered “inappropriate” remarks in Serbian—a language Bitadze understands from playing there—and offered an apology if his own words were perceived as crossing a line.

Ball drives Charlotte surge

LaMelo Ball has steered Charlotte to a 37-34 record, including a 7-3 run over the past 10 games. Head coach Charles Lee credited the guard’s “infectious energy” and willingness to be coached. “There’s just so much joy that he brings,” Lee said. Rookie forward Brandon Miller highlighted Ball’s improved defense as another sign of his growth.
