Hoops Wire is reporting that an NBA trade proposal on the table would move New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson to the New York Knicks.

The report, first noted on the outlet’s website, describes the scenario only as a “trade proposal” without specifying what players, draft picks or financial considerations the Knicks would send to New Orleans in return.

There is no indication that the two franchises have reached an agreement or that negotiations are at an advanced stage. Neither the Pelicans nor the Knicks have publicly commented on the possibility.

Williamson, 23, was selected first overall in the 2019 NBA Draft and has been an All-Star once during his four seasons in New Orleans.

The Knicks finished the 2023-24 regular season with 50 wins, while the Pelicans secured a Western Conference Play-In spot. Any trade involving Williamson would likely have significant implications for both teams’ future roster construction.
