Dallas Mavericks guard Brandon Williams remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol and was held out of Friday’s practice, head coach Jason Kidd told reporters.
“He’s riding the stationary bike and shooting,” Kidd said when asked about the 26-year-old’s current activity level.
An updated league injury report lists Williams as out for Saturday’s home matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, marking his second consecutive absence. He also missed Wednesday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
The fourth-year reserve exited Monday’s defeat in New Orleans after only five minutes because of a head injury. Through 60 appearances this season, he is averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game. Williams is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Veteran wing Caleb Martin (right heel contusion) is listed as questionable for Saturday. Martin has sat out the past two games and did not practice Friday.
