Luka Doncic became the Los Angeles Lakers’ single-season leader in made three-pointers during Thursday’s victory over the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center in Miami. The guard hit his 227th triple of the 2025-26 campaign, passing the previous franchise mark of 226 set by D’Angelo Russell.

Doncic reached the milestone with 12 regular-season games still remaining. The updated top five now features Doncic, Russell, Austin Reaves, Nick Van Exel and Kobe Bryant.

The 27-year-old is attempting more than 10 threes per game and is connecting on 36.6 percent of those shots. Since the All-Star break he has raised that accuracy to over 40 percent, helping fuel a late-season surge that has positioned Los Angeles as a strong playoff contender.

Doncic scored 60 points in the win over Miami and continues to pace the league in scoring, putting him in the MVP discussion alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic. His recent production includes a seven-game span against the Houston Rockets in which he totaled more than 250 points, 50 rebounds, 50 assists and 25 made threes without a loss—an NBA first.

Teammate LeBron James also set a record earlier this season, becoming the oldest player in league history to record at least 30 points while shooting 90 percent or better from the field, surpassing Arvydas Sabonis’ mark set at age 36.
