Mark Cuban Outlines Key Differences Between LeBron James and Michael Jordan

Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban says comparing LeBron James and Michael Jordan is nearly impossible because their games and personalities diverge sharply.
Speaking on The Arena, Cuban noted that Jordan’s reputation as an unflinching closer contrasts with James’s ability to elevate an entire roster.
“Two completely different players”
“If you have a good team and you need a killer, you go MJ,” Cuban said. “If you have a team that’s good and you want them to get better and, as a team, go to the Finals, you go LeBron … MJ is not going to lift up a bad team; LeBron can.” Cuban added that he would trust Jordan with the final shot but would rely on James to improve overall team performance.
GOAT debate persists
Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six championships, completing two separate three-peats and never losing in the NBA Finals. James, now preparing for a record-setting 23rd season, has four titles but owns numerous longevity records and remains in position to set more during the 2025-26 campaign.
Lakers still counting on LeBron
While speculation grows about James’s future beyond the upcoming season, the Los Angeles Lakers continue to bank on his experience. Mavericks star Luka Dončić recently said that James’s track record of winning at the highest level can still help propel the Lakers toward another championship.
