The Memphis Grizzlies have confirmed that guard Scotty Pippen Jr. will miss the rest of the current NBA season, the team announced.
The club did not release further details about the circumstances leading to the decision, but the confirmation ends any possibility of Pippen Jr. returning to the court this year.
The 23-year-old signed a two-way contract with Memphis earlier in the season after spending his rookie year with the Los Angeles Lakers organization.
Pippen Jr., the son of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, appeared in six games for the Grizzlies’ NBA roster, averaging 6.0 points and 3.0 assists in 15.2 minutes.
With Pippen Jr. out, Memphis retains two active two-way slots and can make additional roster moves as the regular season continues.
