The Golden State Warriors will be without guard Seth Curry and forward Al Horford for a minimum of seven days after both players were injured in Friday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced.
Magnetic resonance imaging showed Curry has a mild strain in his left groin, while Horford sustained a mild strain in his left calf. The club did not provide a specific timetable beyond “at least a week.”
Stephen Curry still sidelined
The injuries add to an already lengthy absence list for Golden State. Two-time MVP Stephen Curry missed his 17th straight contest Sunday night because of lingering pain and inflammation in his right knee. The Warriors faced the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden to open a six-game road trip.
Head coach Steve Kerr said Curry traveled with the team and took part in a workout earlier Sunday, calling his presence “important for our morale.” Curry has not played since Jan. 30 and is scheduled for another evaluation next weekend, by which time the Warriors will have completed five of the six road games. Kerr added that the guard remains limited to individual on-court work.
Golden State is 9-18 this season without Stephen Curry, including a 5-11 mark during the current stretch. Kerr noted the team has not endured a comparable absence since the 2019-20 campaign, when Curry broke his left hand and appeared in only five games.
