Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown voiced frustration over what he called the NBA’s growing “foul baiting” issue following the team’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 13, 2026.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Brown argued that opponents are increasingly manipulating contact to draw whistles, disrupting the flow of play and putting defenses at a disadvantage. He said the frequency of such tactics hurt Boston’s ability to mount a comeback against Oklahoma City.

The defeat dropped the Celtics further down the Eastern Conference standings, while the Thunder strengthened their position in the West. Brown added that he hopes the league will address the trend before it affects more contests down the stretch run of the regular season.

The NBA has not publicly responded to Brown’s comments. No formal review or rule change related to foul baiting has been announced.
