MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies have signed wing Tyler Burton to a 10-day hardship contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Burton, 26, arrives from the NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle, where he averaged 19.6 points on 45.0% shooting, including 38.6% from three-point range, along with 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals over 43 games. He scored a season-high 31 points against the Iowa Wolves on Sunday.
The 6-foot-7 swingman went undrafted out of Villanova in 2024. He attended Grizzlies training camp last fall on an Exhibit 10 deal before being waived. Burton also appeared in eight games for the Hustle last season, averaging 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12 minutes per contest. His collegiate career included three seasons at Richmond and two at Villanova.
Memphis continues to deal with a lengthy injury list. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (finger) and rookie Zach Edey (ankle) are out for the season following surgeries. Ja Morant (elbow), Brandon Clarke (calf), Santi Aldama (knee) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) are ruled out for Tuesday night’s matchup with Dallas. Ty Jerome (calf), Walter Clayton Jr. (ankle), Cedric Coward (knee) and Taj Gibson (reconditioning) are doubtful, while Cam Spencer (back) is questionable.
Burton’s hardship deal allows the Grizzlies to add depth while multiple players remain sidelined.
