The Los Angeles Lakers tightened their grip on the Western Conference race Tuesday night, riding 31-point efforts from Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to a home victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena.

The two clubs entered the matchup separated by a single game, with Los Angeles owning the head-to-head tiebreaker. After an ice-cold opening period, the Lakers found rhythm in the second quarter and reached halftime tied 45-45. A 39-point third quarter blew the game open, and the hosts protected the advantage the rest of the way to secure a third straight win—and their sixth in seven outings.

Key Performers

Luka Doncic shook off a scoreless stretch in the first quarter, attacking the rim to ignite his offense before catching fire from the perimeter after intermission. Despite repeatedly bumping knees with defenders, the All-Star compiled a triple-double with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

Austin Reaves managed just two points before halftime but erupted in the second half, scoring from all three levels and nailing two four-point plays. The guard finished with 31 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, nearly matching Doncic’s triple-double.

With the frontcourt short-handed, Deandre Ayton provided early stability, registering a first-half double-double on his way to 14 points and 12 boards.
