CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers anticipate guard Max Strus will rejoin the lineup in about a week as he continues to recover from offseason foot surgery, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
Strus, 28, underwent a procedure to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot and has not appeared in a game this season. The 6-foot-5 wing played 50 contests for Cleveland last year, posting averages of 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists while connecting on 38.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
Though sidelined, Strus has remained active in team huddles. “That’s another high-IQ player kind of giving you what he sees out there,” guard Donovan Mitchell said, noting Strus’s guidance for teammates such as James Harden, Dean Wade, Evan Mobley, Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis.
Strus will miss Wednesday’s road matchup with the Orlando Magic. Center Jarrett Allen is also out for the third straight game because of a knee injury.
