The Brooklyn Nets have decided against offering forward Grant Nelson a second 10-day contract, ending the rookie’s brief stay with the club, according to people familiar with the move.

Nelson’s initial 10-day agreement expired on Saturday, 9 March 2026. Team officials informed the 23-year-old that no extension would be issued, a choice described by sources as unexpected given the organization’s recent injury issues and the player’s positive reviews inside the locker room.

The 6-foot-10 North Dakota native was signed late last month to provide front-court depth. He appeared in limited minutes during his short spell but impressed coaches with his activity in practice, league sources said. Despite that, Brooklyn will now look elsewhere to fill its open roster spot.

Nelson becomes an unrestricted free agent and is eligible to sign with any NBA team.
