Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic said he does not envision playing for any NBA team other than the one that drafted him in 2014.

Speaking on the Serbian basketball podcast Xs and Os Chat, the two-time MVP was asked if he could picture wearing a different uniform. “I wouldn’t like to imagine that,” Jokic replied, according to RealGM. “Even if we never win anything else after this, an organic title means more to me than anything.”

Jokic, 29, has spent his entire professional career in Denver after being selected in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft. During that span he has won two Most Valuable Player awards and, in 2023, helped lead the franchise to its first NBA championship.

The All-Star center pointed to a deep personal connection with the city. “I really found peace here,” he said. “My two kids were born here. Everyone’s here. Peace, home. I found my life here and I like life here.”

Jokic added that the roster’s continuity is important to him. “We built something here, together as a team,” he noted, emphasizing his lack of interest in changing teams despite the league’s frequent player movement.

Although he expressed great respect for European basketball, Jokic also indicated he does not plan to leave the NBA for a club overseas.
