Washington center Alex Sarr is expected to suit up Sunday night in New Orleans after being removed from the Wizards’ injury report.

The 20-year-old, taken second overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, has not played since straining his hamstring on February 8. The setback sidelined him for the club’s last 10 games.

Sunday’s matchup will mark Sarr’s first opportunity to share the floor with guard Trae Young, who made his Wizards debut on Thursday. Team officials are likely to limit Sarr’s minutes during his initial games back to protect one of the franchise’s core pieces.

Before the injury, the French big man was averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 blocks across 28.2 minutes in 41 appearances, shooting 49.6 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from three and 69.1 percent at the foul line.
