Free agent forward/center Darius Bazley has reached an agreement with the Ningbo Rockets of the Chinese Basketball Association, Sportando’s Dario Skerletic reported.
The move sends the 25-year-old back overseas after five NBA seasons. Bazley’s most recent NBA action came with the Utah Jazz at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Selected 23rd overall by Oklahoma City in the 2019 draft, Bazley spent the bulk of his NBA tenure with the Thunder before being dealt to the Phoenix Suns ahead of the February 2023 trade deadline. He later signed a training-camp contract with the Brooklyn Nets, but was waived in the fall of 2023. Most of the 2023/24 season was spent in the G League, followed by a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and a rest-of-season deal in Utah.
Bazley began the 2024/25 season with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the CBA, departing in November 2024. He completed that campaign with the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers’ G League affiliate, and Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico.
Attempting to relaunch his career, Bazley joined the Los Angeles Lakers’ Summer League squad last July but exited the third game in Las Vegas with a significant right leg injury that required a wheelchair. The contract with Ningbo is his first since that setback.
