DENVER — OG Anunoby delivered 34 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals Friday night, powering the New York Knicks to a 142-103 win over the Denver Nuggets. The performance came one season after the forward’s career-high 40 points against the same opponent.
Head coach Mike Brown praised the versatile outing. “He’s making quick decisions and touching the paint. He’s knocking his shot down,” Brown said. “Defensively, he’s on another level … that’s Defensive Player of the Year-type stuff.” Anunoby, in the second season of a five-year, $212.5 million deal, guarded everyone from point guards to two-time MVP Nikola Jokić, according to Brown.

Rookie wing Pacome Dadiet capitalized on late-game minutes, scoring 11 points in nine minutes of garbage time. The 2024 first-round pick has spent most of the season in the G League. “He’s been shooting the mess out of it,” Brown said, noting the 19-year-old’s size and continued development.
Towns Targets Strong Finish
New York’s postseason hopes hinge on Karl-Anthony Towns sustaining All-Star form. Since the All-Star break, the veteran center is averaging 19.1 points on 60.9 percent shooting—48.1 percent from three—along with 11.7 rebounds. “I want to be a star in my role,” Towns said. “I wake up every day thinking about how I can impact winning.”
Road Stretch Continues
The Knicks’ five-game trip resumes with back-to-back contests against the Lakers on Sunday and the Clippers on Monday. New York enters the Los Angeles swing 17-14 away from Madison Square Garden.
