The Los Angeles Lakers halted a three-game losing streak with a wire-to-wire victory over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, and LeBron James credited an unexpected influence: his nine-year-old daughter, Zhuri.

James opened the contest at Chase Center by sinking his first four three-pointers and finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in just 28 minutes. The 123-110 win also marked the first regular-season road trip Zhuri has joined during her father’s 21-year career.

“She’s my good luck charm,” James said postgame. “She already asked, ‘When is the next road trip?’”

Pregame Trick Shot and Family Time

Before tip-off, Zhuri hit a trick shot on the arena floor and tossed an alley-oop pass to her father, capping the moment with their signature handshake. Away from basketball, the pair toured Alcatraz, viewed the Golden Gate Bridge and had dinner together in San Francisco.

“I miss a lot of moments with my kids because of my career,” James explained. “Anytime I get to spend with them—individually or all together—is always special.”

Volleyball, Not Basketball

While Zhuri showed poise on the hardwood, James noted she prefers another sport. “She’s a volleyball player,” he said, adding that his wife, Savannah, has made it clear the family is “done with basketball.” Still, he acknowledged Zhuri’s solid ball-handling and shooting form from years of being around the game.

The Lakers will look to carry the momentum—and perhaps their new lucky charm—into their upcoming schedule.
