The Phoenix Suns still list guard Cole Anthony on the roster, but he remains away from the club while management decides his future. Head coach Jordan Ott told reporters the team’s recent backcourt injuries have delayed a final move.

“There hasn’t been much change,” Ott said, noting that the depth chart has been thin. Phoenix opens a four-day break on Friday, giving the staff additional time to evaluate its options.

Devin Booker, sidelined by a right hip strain, is expected back next week. If the Suns determine they have enough healthy guards, Anthony could be released by Sunday—the league’s deadline for a player to remain eligible for another team’s playoff roster. Cutting Anthony would also allow Phoenix to convert two-way guard Jamaree Bouyea to a standard contract.

Buyout market updates

Khris Middleton: According to ClutchPoints, the San Antonio Spurs have joined the Denver Nuggets in monitoring the forward’s status in Dallas. The Mavericks have given Middleton control over any buyout decision.

Lonzo Ball: The Golden State Warriors and Nuggets showed interest, but ongoing knee issues cooled discussions, and no agreement is close.

D’Angelo Russell: League sources say the guard has not attracted significant attention. The Washington Wizards would likely demand financial concessions tied to his 2026-27 player option in any buyout scenario.

Chris Boucher: Several executives believe the forward would like to return to the Toronto Raptors, though it is unclear whether Toronto shares that interest.
