Veteran forward Kyle Anderson has finalized a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and intends to sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves once he clears waivers, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.

Anderson, 32, previously spent two seasons with Minnesota and was part of the club’s run to the 2023/24 Western Conference Finals. His upcoming deal will mark a return to a roster aiming for another deep postseason push.

The nine-year veteran opened the current season with the Utah Jazz, appearing in 20 games before being sent to Memphis earlier this month in the trade that moved Jaren Jackson Jr. to Salt Lake City. With the Grizzlies in rebuilding mode, Anderson’s second stint in Memphis ends after just a few weeks.

Anderson will become eligible to sign with the Timberwolves after he clears waivers, a process that typically takes 48 hours. Contract terms with Minnesota have not yet been disclosed.
