The Indiana Pacers are weighing several roster moves as injuries continue to test the club’s depth.

Jackson Viewed as Top Candidate for 15th Roster Spot

Indiana has one vacancy on its 15-man roster, and two-way guard Quenton Jackson has surfaced as the leading option for a promotion, according to multiple reports. Jackson’s two-way contract expires at the end of the season, and because 2025-26 is his fourth NBA campaign, league rules prevent him from signing another two-way deal next year. To keep him beyond this season, the Pacers would have to convert him to a standard contract.

The club now sits comfortably below the luxury-tax threshold, giving it room to sign Jackson at the veteran minimum—or slightly above—without financial penalty. If Indiana decides to elevate the 25-year-old, it must act before March 4, the deadline for adding a player on a two-way contract and, consequently, for back-filling Jackson’s slot.

Furphy Has Season-Ending Surgery

Second-year guard Johnny Furphy underwent surgery Tuesday in Chicago to repair the torn right ACL he suffered earlier this month, the Pacers announced. He is out for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign and is expected to miss a substantial portion of 2026-27 as well.

Jones Takes Advantage of Extended Minutes

Rookie guard Kam Jones, sidelined until late December by a back injury, has appeared in each of Indiana’s last nine contests, averaging 26.6 minutes. Head coach Rick Carlisle praised the 2025 second-round pick for his decision-making and noted that Jones has finally reached NBA conditioning levels after missing the first two months of the schedule.

Siakam Doubtful, Toppin Nearing Return

Forward Pascal Siakam is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game against Charlotte with a left wrist sprain. Siakam returned Sunday after a three-game absence caused by a hamstring issue but hurt his wrist and sat out Tuesday’s loss to Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, forward Obi Toppin could rejoin the lineup Thursday after missing time following foot surgery, though Indiana is expected to remain short-handed regardless of his status.
