Lakers Raise Season Ticket Prices; New Business Chief Lon Rosen Points to Market Demand

The Los Angeles Lakers will charge markedly more for season tickets next year, a move newly appointed president of business operations Lon Rosen says mirrors current market conditions.

Rosen, who will assume the post after longtime executive Tim Harris steps down at season’s end, acknowledged the expected backlash but urged account holders to keep their seats.

“We hope they renew,” Rosen said, noting that the club studied both primary and secondary sales before setting the higher rates. “It reflects what the market is now and the demand for tickets.”

Some seating areas will rise by almost 50 percent, and the club plans to levy a three-percent administrative fee on invoices that are not paid in full at the start of the billing period.

Ticket affordability has become a league-wide issue, and the Lakers—boosted by star power such as LeBron James and, as cited in the team’s explanation, Luka Doncic—remain among the NBA’s priciest draws.
