A Fort Bend County grand jury on Monday issued a no-bill in the felony assault case against former NBA guard Patrick Beverley, ending legal proceedings stemming from a November 2025 arrest in Rosharon, Texas.

Prosecutors had accused the 37-year-old of assault in what authorities labeled a “family violence” incident. Jurors concluded there was insufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial.

In a joint statement, Beverley’s attorneys, Rusty Hardin and Letitia Quinones-Hollins, said their client “would never do anything to harm his sister” and expressed appreciation for the grand jury’s decision. “He is thankful for all who prayed for him and supported him during this time,” the lawyers added, noting Beverley hopes the outcome will restore his reputation.

Beverley was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, after an incident at a family home. Shortly afterward, he posted an unsigned statement on social media saying he had unexpectedly found his underage sister alone with an 18-year-old man and reacted out of concern. The post asserted that events “didn’t happen the way they’ve been described” and pledged to address the matter in court.

Following Monday’s ruling, Beverley wrote online that the ordeal had strengthened his family and called for continued vigilance in protecting children, “especially our young girls.”

The Chicago native last appeared in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2024 season, capping a 12-year career that also included stints with the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers and several other teams.
