PHOENIX — Guard Dillon Brooks fractured his left hand during the Phoenix Suns’ double-overtime victory over the Orlando Magic on Saturday and is expected to miss significant time, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Team physicians are scheduled to meet Sunday to establish a recovery timeline for the 26-year-old, the sources said.

The injury compounds Phoenix’s backcourt problems. Before tip-off Saturday, the Suns announced that All-Star guard Devin Booker will be sidelined for at least one week after straining his right hip Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs.

Brooks logged seven minutes against Orlando, finishing with five points and three rebounds before exiting. He entered the night averaging 21.2 points and 3.7 rebounds, a 6.9-point scoring increase from last season—the sixth-largest year-over-year jump among players eligible for the scoring title, according to ESPN Research. Phoenix is 3-4 without Brooks this season.

Booker, 29, is averaging 24.7 points, 6.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds across 44 games. He recently missed seven consecutive contests with a sprained right ankle.

Despite the injuries, the Suns remain in playoff contention at 33-24 under first-year head coach Jordan Ott, relying on leadership from Booker and Brooks and support from a young core that includes Jalen Green, Collin Gillespie, Mark Williams and Ryan Dunn.
