NEW YORK — A group of NBA franchise owners believes the league manipulated the 2025 draft lottery to ensure highly touted prospect Cooper Flagg landed with the Dallas Mavericks, according to the New York Post.
The owners, who were not named, reportedly claim the lottery’s outcome deviated from established procedures, ultimately steering Flagg to Dallas. The Mavericks secured Flagg’s rights during the 2025 draft after the lottery set the selection order.
No formal complaint has been filed, and the NBA has not publicly addressed the allegation. The Mavericks have also declined to comment, the Post said.
