The Denver Nuggets have moved forward Spencer Jones from his two-way deal to a standard NBA contract for the rest of the 2025-26 season, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

Jones, 24, will enter restricted free agency in June. Now in his second NBA season, he has opened 34 of Denver’s 46 games, averaging 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 23.6 minutes while shooting 41.4% from three-point range.

Injury setbacks across the Nuggets’ frontcourt have pushed Jones into a regular rotation spot. According to ESPN Research, he is converting 41% of his catch-and-shoot attempts from beyond the arc and limiting opposing players to 45% shooting when he is the nearest defender.

If Jones starts seven more games this season, he will become the first player whose qualifying offer meets the starter criteria following a direct conversion from a two-way to a standard contract.
