Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia said he wants the team to keep the same approach it carried into the All-Star break, emphasizing consistency over major changes for the remaining schedule.
Speaking with Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic, Ishbia noted that the Suns’ goals are simple as they resume play. “We’re going to compete at a high level and have a team the fans can be proud of,” he said. “I think we’ve done that so far, but we’ve got to consistently do it. Fifty-five games are not enough.”
Phoenix reached the break at 32-23, placing seventh in the Western Conference. Despite limited roster flexibility and acknowledged shortcomings, the organization has leaned on toughness, depth and culture-building rather than chasing high-profile roster moves.
Ishbia reiterated that the club’s focus is to “keep competing, keep stacking good habits, keep showing up,” a message that aligns with the Suns’ season-long strategy of incremental improvement rather than sweeping changes.
