Former NBA first-round pick Kai Jones will remain with Anadolu Efes after agreeing to a new two-year contract, the Turkish club announced.
Jones, selected No. 19 overall in the 2021 draft, has four seasons of NBA experience. Last year he split 40 games between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, averaging 5.0 points and 3.1 rebounds while converting a high percentage of his attempts near the rim.
The 6-foot-11 forward/center has carried that efficiency into Europe. In 26 EuroLeague appearances this season, Jones is posting 3.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks across just over 14 minutes per game. He has taken fewer than two shots per outing yet made 45 of his 47 field-goal attempts.
Jones briefly resurfaced on NBA radars last summer with a workout for the Miami Heat and was close to signing with Virtus Bologna before choosing Efes. The new deal signals mutual interest in extending the partnership through at least the 2025-26 campaign.
