Oklahoma City, OK — Guard Nikola Topic has been removed from the Oklahoma City Thunder’s injury report for Thursday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, positioning the 20-year-old to appear in his first NBA regular-season game.
Selected No. 12 overall in the 2024 draft, the Serbian point guard missed the entire 2024-25 campaign after tearing the ACL in his left knee. He later took part in the 2025 Summer League, training camp and part of the preseason before being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Agent Misko Raznatovic announced in early January that Topic had completed chemotherapy. The 6-6 playmaker returned to game action this week, logging two G League appearances on Monday and Tuesday and averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steal while shooting .588 from the field, .556 from three and .667 from the line in 17.9 minutes per game.
Head coach Mark Daigneault is expected to keep Topic on a minutes restriction, but Oklahoma City could need his services with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal strain), Jalen Williams (hamstring strain) and Ajay Mitchell (abdominal strain, left ankle sprain) all sidelined.
Thursday’s game represents another major step in Topic’s recovery from both a serious knee injury and cancer treatment.
