CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will hand out beard-shaped props to fans on Wednesday night when guard James Harden makes his home debut at Rocket Arena.
The team announced Tuesday that a limited number of stick-mounted, mouth-cutout beards—modeled after Harden’s signature facial hair—will be available to spectators who arrive early. The promotion coincides with the 10-time All-Star’s first appearance in front of the home crowd since arriving in a deadline trade.
Cleveland acquired Harden from the Los Angeles Clippers last week in exchange for guard Darius Garland and a second-round draft pick. The veteran has already delivered in clutch situations on the road, helping the Cavaliers secure back-to-back wins.
• In his team debut Saturday at Sacramento, Harden totaled 23 points and eight assists in a gritty victory.
• Two nights later in Denver, he posted 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, recording his first double-double with Cleveland and sparking a late comeback against the Nuggets.
Wednesday’s matchup will give fans their first in-person look at Harden in a Cavaliers uniform—and, for many, a chance to “wear” the trademark beard that has defined his NBA persona.
