Forward Draymond Green told EssentiallySports.com he expects to play “another two to four years” beyond the current season, saying he still feels able to “compete at an elite level.” The 34-year-old four-time champion said he once assumed his body would falter by Year 12 but now believes he is “still getting better.”

General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. dismissed reports that Golden State considered trading Green before the deadline. The veteran holds a $27.7 million player option for 2024-25 and must make a decision by June 29.

Pelicans

Guard Dejounte Murray has returned to practice on a limited basis while rehabbing the Achilles tear that ended his 2023-24 campaign after 31 games. Head coach James Borrego called Murray’s presence “a massive boost,” praising the 27-year-old’s approach to recovery and leadership.

New Orleans has not set a target date for his return, but Borrego said on-court activity will increase “soon.” When healthy, Murray will join a revamped backcourt featuring offseason additions Jordan Poole and rookie Jeremiah Fears after the exits of CJ McCollum and Jose Alvarado.

Clippers

President of basketball operations Lawrence Frank defended the deadline trades that sent James Harden, Ivica Zubac and Chris Paul out of Los Angeles. Frank said the organization aims to “win now” while getting younger, noting the Clippers were the league’s oldest roster and sat ninth in the Western Conference at the time of the moves. “We had to make some really, really hard decisions,” he added.
