The Cleveland Cavaliers are converting forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin’s two-way contract into a full NBA agreement, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday.

Agent Aaron Turner told ESPN that the 25-year-old has finalized a two-year, minimum-salary deal that is guaranteed through the 2026-27 season. The move places Tomlin on Cleveland’s 15-man roster for the remainder of 2025-26.

Tomlin reached the 50-game active limit for two-way players on Monday, appearing in 43 contests and dressing for seven others. To continue using him, the Cavaliers were required to promote him to a standard contract.

This season, the 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 6.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 17.1 minutes per game. He logged only five NBA appearances last year after joining the organization as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis, spending most of 2024-25 with the G League’s Cleveland Charge before signing a 10-day contract in February and a two-year two-way deal in March.

Operating above the second tax apron limits Cleveland to a two-year minimum offer, which becomes fully guaranteed by this agreement. Tomlin will earn $718,150 for the balance of 2025-26 and $2,411,090 in 2026-27. The Cavaliers do not need to clear a roster spot, as they had one vacancy on the standard roster.
