Nikola Jokic moved into sole possession of second place on the NBA’s all-time triple-double list on Saturday night, finishing with 22 points, 17 assists and 14 rebounds to lift the Denver Nuggets over the Chicago Bulls 136-120 at the United Center.
The performance marked Jokic’s 182nd regular-season triple-double, nudging him past Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson. Only Russell Westbrook, with 207, owns more.
“He is a legendary player,” Jokic said of Robertson, who became the league’s first season-long triple-double performer in 1961-62. “Any player who steps into this league knows he’s a global legend.”
Saturday’s stat line delivered Jokic’s 19th triple-double of the 2025-26 campaign and his second in as many games. The three-time MVP and eight-time All-Star is one of just three players—alongside Westbrook and Robertson—to average a triple-double over an entire season. Westbrook has accomplished the feat four times, Jokic twice and Robertson once.
Interim head coach David Adelman, a Nuggets assistant since 2017, said Jokic’s passing still catches him off guard. “When your center gets 17 assists in a game—that just doesn’t happen,” Adelman said. “Unless it’s him.”
Guard Jamal Murray predicted Jokic’s record-chasing pace will continue. “He’s got a lot of that left,” Murray said. “It’s going to be a Usain Bolt record when he sets it. He’s going to have that for a long time.”
Jokic turns 31 on Feb. 19.
