Los Angeles Lakers forward Markieff Morris believes LeBron James has enough left in the tank to remain in the NBA well into his mid-40s. Speaking on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Morris said the 20-time All-Star could play four more seasons.

“He for sure can play until 46,” Morris stated. “That’s factual. He’s 42 and still having the best years of his career. He could play four more years if he wanted to.”

James, who will turn 41 before the 2025-26 campaign, is set to become the first player in league history to appear in 23 seasons when the Lakers open the year. Despite the unprecedented mileage, he remains a perennial All-NBA selection and, according to Morris, the Lakers’ “second-best player” and offensive focal point.

Morris has observed James’s routine from close range twice. He won a championship alongside the four-time MVP during the 2019-20 season, then rejoined Los Angeles in March 2025 as part of the trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Lakers. The veteran forward said James’s preparation and conditioning look largely unchanged five years after their first title run together.

While James has not committed publicly to how long he intends to play, Morris’s comments add to the growing perception that the NBA’s all-time scoring leader could extend his career strictly on his own terms.
