The Dallas Mavericks have reached an agreement to obtain veteran point guard Tyus Jones from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guard Malaki Branham, according to sources on Thursday.

Branham had just arrived in Dallas on Wednesday as part of the eight-player deal that sent Anthony Davis from the Washington Wizards to the Mavericks.

Jones, 29, is changing teams for the second time this week. The Orlando Magic moved him to Charlotte on Wednesday, packaging two second-round picks in a cost-cutting maneuver.

Across 730 career games, including 226 starts, Jones averages 7.4 points and 4.3 assists. He signed a one-year, $7 million contract with Orlando last offseason but saw limited action, posting 3.0 points and 2.4 assists in 15.7 minutes per game.

By shipping out Jones, the Hornets create a $7 million trade exception.
