CHICAGO — The Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement to obtain forward Guerschon Yabusele from the New York Knicks in exchange for guard/forward Dalen Terry, according to multiple reports.

Yabusele, 30, holds a $5.7 million player option for next season and had been on the trade market for several weeks. New York struggled to move the veteran forward until Chicago opted to make the deal.

The French native averaged 8.9 minutes across 41 games for the Knicks after a productive stint in Philadelphia. Talk of a possible return to Europe is now on hold, and he is expected to receive more playing time with a Bulls frontcourt reshaped by recent moves, including the trade that sent Nikola Vucevic to Boston.

For New York, swapping Yabusele’s $5.5 million salary for the $5.4 million expiring contract of Terry provides modest cap relief. Analyst Yossi Gozlan of The Third Apron noted the Knicks now have enough room below the second tax apron to sign a 15th player sooner than anticipated.

Terry, 23, was selected 18th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft but never secured a steady rotation role in Chicago. His expiring deal could be moved again before the trade deadline, league sources said.
