The Golden State Warriors have reached a deal to trade forward Jonathan Kuminga and guard Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks for veteran center Kristaps Porzingis, league sources told ESPN late on Feb. 4, 2026.

According to team insiders, the agreement effectively ends Golden State’s week-long pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. After multiple unsuccessful offers for Antetokounmpo, the Warriors shifted their focus to Porzingis, a player the front office has tracked since his postseason runs with the Boston Celtics.

Porzingis, 30, arrives on an expiring $30.7 million contract. The 7-foot-3 center appeared in just 17 games for Atlanta this season because of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and additional minor injuries. Golden State hopes he can return to the floor quickly and provide rim protection and three-point shooting alongside Draymond Green, whom the team now plans to keep after previously including him in trade discussions.

The move closes Kuminga’s five-year tenure with the Warriors. The former No. 7 overall pick averaged 12.5 points on 50.3 percent shooting over 278 games but never secured a permanent spot in coach Steve Kerr’s rotation. Atlanta views the 24-year-old as a high-upside wing on a controllable deal; his contract carries a $24.3 million team option for next season.

Golden State, currently 27-24 and eighth in the Western Conference, also sent backup center Trayce Jackson-Davis to the Toronto Raptors for the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2026 second-round pick, sources said.
