The Chicago Bulls continued their roster shake-up Wednesday, sending guards Coby White and Mike Conley to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guard Collin Sexton, forward Ousmane Dieng and three second-round draft selections, according to multiple league sources.
The deal is part of a multi-team sequence that began with Charlotte acquiring Dieng and a 2029 second-round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder for center Mason Plumlee. The Hornets then rerouted Dieng to Chicago as they finalized the agreement for White and Conley.
White, 26, was Chicago’s longest-tenured player after being drafted seventh overall in 2019. Scheduled to enter free agency this summer, he now joins a Charlotte team riding a seven-game winning streak and sitting one game behind the Bulls for the Eastern Conference’s No. 10 seed. White is averaging 18.6 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 44 percent in 29 appearances this season.
Conley, 38, averaged 7.9 points and 4.5 assists in 25 games with Chicago following an offseason signing. His veteran presence bolsters a Hornets backcourt that also features LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier.
Chicago receives Sexton, 27, who is posting 14.2 points per game on 48 percent shooting over 42 contests, along with Dieng, the 11th overall pick in 2022. Dieng, 22, has averaged 3.7 points and 1.6 rebounds in limited action for Oklahoma City this season.
In addition to the players, the Bulls obtain the least favorable 2029 second-rounder between Denver and Charlotte, a 2031 New York Knicks second-round pick and a 2031 Denver Nuggets second-round pick, ESPN’s Bobby Marks reported.
The Hornets will receive the least favorable 2029 second-round selection between the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat from the Thunder as part of the Plumlee-Dieng portion of the transaction.
Wednesday’s trade follows Chicago’s moves on Tuesday, when the Bulls added guards Jaden Ivey and Anfernee Simons and sent out center Nikola Vučević and guard Kevin Huerter ahead of Thursday’s league deadline.
