Luka Doncic Earns Western Conference Player of the Month Honors for January

The NBA announced on Feb. 1, 2026, that Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has been named Western Conference Player of the Month for January.
Across 15 January outings, the Slovenian star posted averages of 34.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from beyond the arc. He scored at least 30 points in 11 games, recorded eight double-doubles and produced three triple-doubles, including one against the Washington Wizards that he completed before halftime.
Doncic surpassed the 40-point mark twice during the month. His top performance came against the Chicago Bulls, when he delivered 46 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds while connecting on eight three-pointers in a win.
This is the sixth Western Conference Player of the Month award of Doncic’s career but his first since joining the Lakers. He last claimed the honor in March 2024 as a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
Previous Western Conference winners this season include Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (October) and Oklahoma City Thunder guard and reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (December). Doncic has also picked up two Western Conference Player of the Week awards this season, most recently for the final week of January, when he averaged 34.3 points on 49.2 percent shooting, 10.7 rebounds, 9.7 assists and 2.0 steals in 38.0 minutes.
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown captured the Eastern Conference Player of the Month award after averaging 29.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
