The Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls have finalized a three-team trade announced Monday through separate press releases.
Key details of the transaction
Cleveland Cavaliers receive: Keon Ellis, Dennis Schröder, Emanuel Miller. The club subsequently waived Luke Travers.
Sacramento Kings receive: DeAndre Hunter.
Chicago Bulls receive: Dario Šarić, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick. The Bulls waived Jevon Carter.
Cleveland’s perspective
“After careful evaluation and a clearer view of the Eastern Conference landscape, we believe adding Dennis and Keon strengthens our depth, expands our flexibility, and positions us to keep building a championship-caliber team now and into the future,” Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman said in the statement.
Altman thanked Hunter for his brief stint in Cleveland and acknowledged Travers’ development since being drafted in 2022.
Roster impact
By moving three players and acquiring one, Sacramento now has two open spots on its standard roster and 14 days to sign replacements to reach the league-minimum 14 standard contracts. Cleveland and Chicago both sit at the maximum 18 players under contract, including their two-way slots.
