San Francisco, CA — The Golden State Warriors plan to sign free-agent guard Taevion Kinsey, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The agreement is expected to be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract that will bring the 25-year-old into training camp.

An Exhibit 10 deal allows the Warriors to convert Kinsey to a two-way contract or waive him before the regular season. Should he be released and spend at least 60 days with Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300. Golden State currently has two open two-way slots, though those positions may already be earmarked.

Kinsey went undrafted in 2023 after five collegiate seasons at Marshall University, where he was named Sun Belt Player of the Year in 2022-23 and finished as the Thundering Herd’s all-time leading scorer. He previously signed Exhibit 10 contracts with the Utah Jazz in each of the past two offseasons, was waived in the fall both times, and then joined the Salt Lake City Stars.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard spent a brief stint on a 10-day contract with Utah in March 2024 and held a two-way deal with the organization for roughly a month last summer, but he has yet to appear in an NBA regular-season game.

In 50 games with the Stars during the 2024-25 G League season, Kinsey averaged 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steal while shooting 52.5% from the field, 32.7% from three, and 66.2% from the foul line over 33.8 minutes per contest. The prior year, he posted 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 0.8 steals across the same number of appearances.

Scotto also reports that Kinsey has been selected to join the G League United roster that will compete in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup this September.
