Charlotte forward Miles Bridges is attracting offers from several contenders as the NBA’s Feb. 5 trade cutoff nears, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. League sources told Amick the Bucks, Warriors, and Suns are among the franchises pursuing the 27-year-old.

Bridges is earning $25 million this season and is guaranteed $22.8 million in 2026-27, leaving the Hornets under no immediate cap pressure. Even so, Charlotte is reportedly holding firm on its price, seeking at least one first-round pick—and possibly two—before agreeing to any deal.

Production and Durability

The No. 12 selection in the 2018 draft has spent his entire career with Charlotte, starting 363 of 468 regular-season games. This season he is averaging 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists across 32.8 minutes while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from three-point range. Although not viewed as an elite shooter or defender, the 6-foot-7 wing has topped 20 points per game over the past three-plus seasons and has never appeared in fewer than 64 contests; he has played 44 of the Hornets’ 45 games so far.

Off-Court Background

Teams weighing a move must also factor in Bridges’ legal history. He missed the entire 2022-23 campaign following an arrest on felony domestic violence charges just before restricted free agency. Bridges later accepted a plea agreement, and three separate criminal counts were dismissed. After serving a suspension at the start of 2023-24, he has had no further legal issues over the past two seasons.

Potential Trade Frameworks

Amick notes several obstacles in negotiations:

  • Milwaukee: Charlotte is reportedly lukewarm on forward Kyle Kuzma, whose $22.4 million salary would best approximate Bridges’ cap figure in a Bucks package. Milwaukee has additional trade pieces, but Kuzma remains the most logical salary match.
  • Golden State: Any Warriors proposal would likely be built around Jonathan Kuminga and his $22.5 million contract, though Charlotte’s level of interest in the former No. 7 pick is unclear.
  • Phoenix: Bridges and Suns owner Mat Ishbia both played at Michigan State, yet Phoenix reportedly hesitates to disrupt its current locker-room chemistry with a major in-season move.

With the deadline less than two weeks away, rival executives continue to monitor whether the Hornets will lower their asking price—or if a suitor will meet it first.
