Warriors Exploring Wing Market as Nets Hold Firm on Michael Porter Jr. Price

Golden State has discussed a potential trade for Brooklyn forward Michael Porter Jr., but the Nets’ asking price is higher than the Warriors are prepared to pay, according to a report from Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
League sources told Siegel that once the Warriors gauged the cost, internal talks cooled. Los Angeles is also expected to stay away from Porter, whose contract includes $40.8 million due in the 2026-27 season. Brooklyn has indicated it is comfortable keeping the 25-year-old past the deadline unless a team meets its valuation.
Warriors Continue Search for Wings
With Porter likely out of reach, Golden State is still targeting wing depth. The club has been linked to DeMar DeRozan and former Warrior Andrew Wiggins, who helped the franchise win the 2022 championship and reportedly retains mutual interest in a reunion.
Trey Murphy III remains another option. Sources said the Warriors have made “multiple” calls to New Orleans, but the Pelicans are believed to be seeking multiple first-round picks plus young talent in any deal for the 23-year-old sharpshooter.
Magic Weigh Options Near Tax Line
Orlando could look to trim salary and add draft capital before the deadline. Siegel lists Tyus Jones, Jonathan Isaac, and Goga Bitadze as names worth monitoring. The Magic sit roughly $5.6 million above the luxury-tax threshold; moving Bitadze could generate second-round assets and immediate tax relief.
Timberwolves Eye Backcourt Help
Minnesota is expected to shop for guards. Tyus Jones, Malik Monk, and Collin Sexton have all been connected to the Timberwolves, Siegel reports. Charlotte is said to want at least one significant asset in any Sexton deal.
